Guidelines for Competition and Training Sessions/Activities in Response to Typhoon and Rainstorm Warning Signals Issued by the Observatory
Competition
In the event that the Hong Kong Observatory issues a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher, or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, at least 2 hours prior to the commencement of the first round of events on the competition day, all scheduled events for that day will be canceled. These events will be rescheduled for the next competition day, with the updated schedule to be announced on our website: https://www.icehockeyhongkong.org/
Should the Hong Kong Observatory downgrade a Typhoon Signal from No. 8 or higher to No. 3 or lower, or a Black Rainstorm Warning to a Red Rainstorm Warning or lower, at least 2 hours before the start of the first round of events on the competition day, the events will proceed as planned. Participants are expected to arrive at the venue on time.
During the competition, if the Hong Kong Observatory forecasts the imminent issuance of a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher, or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, the on-duty staff will assess the situation and determine whether to continue or suspend the events. Participants will be allowed to leave the venue promptly or remain in a designated safe area temporarily.
Training Sessions/Activities
When the Hong Kong Observatory issues a Red Rainstorm Warning Signal or a Typhoon Signal No. 3, training sessions and activities will continue as scheduled. Participants and/or their parents may choose at their discretion whether to proceed with participation.
However, if the Hong Kong Observatory issues a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher at least 2 hours before the start of the class or activity, that session will be canceled. Please note that no make-up sessions will be arranged for training classes, while notifications regarding other activities will be provided separately.
Participants are encouraged to regularly check for the latest announcements on our website: https://www.icehockeyhongkong.org/
